What a Deep Clean Actually Is
A deep clean is a full reset of the house. A regular clean handles the surfaces you see every day. A deep clean handles everything behind, under, above and inside those surfaces, the places that build up slowly enough that you stop noticing.
It takes considerably longer than a maintenance visit, and it is the right starting point for almost every new client.
What Gets Done That a Regular Clean Does Not
In the kitchen: cabinet fronts washed rather than spot-cleaned, the backsplash degreased properly, the range hood and filter degreased, the outside of every appliance cleaned including the sides, the sink and drain scrubbed, and the floor edges and corners done by hand.
In the bathrooms: soap scum and hard water removed from glass and tile rather than wiped, grout scrubbed, chrome descaled, and the base of the toilet and the floor behind it cleaned.
Everywhere else: baseboards washed, door frames and doors wiped, light fixtures and ceiling fan blades dusted, switch plates cleaned, window sills and tracks cleaned, blinds dusted slat by slat, and vents and returns dusted.

When to Book One
Before starting a recurring schedule, because it is what makes the regular visits work. Before hosting, particularly at the holidays. In spring, when a Tulsa winter of closed windows and running heat has left a film on everything. After renovation work, or before moving into a property. Or when it has been long enough that a normal clean would not touch it.
Homes on a regular schedule usually want a deep clean once or twice a year on top of the routine visits.
The Tulsa-Specific Parts
Two things show up in nearly every deep clean in this city. The first is hard water. Tulsa water leaves a film on shower glass, chrome and taps that a normal wipe will not shift, and it builds until the glass looks permanently cloudy. It is not permanent, but it needs the right product and time rather than more scrubbing.
The second is pollen. A Tulsa spring puts a fine layer on sills, tracks, blinds and the top of every horizontal surface, and it comes back in through every opened door. Window sills and tracks are one of the most satisfying parts of a deep clean here for exactly that reason.
What to Do Before We Arrive
Pick up rather than clean. Clothes, toys, papers and dishes all have to be moved before a surface can be touched, and a crew spending an hour tidying is an hour not deep cleaning. Everything else is ours.
If there is anything delicate, an antique, a stone surface with a particular product, a finish that has been repaired, tell us or leave a note on it. We would rather ask than guess.
How Long It Takes
