The Questions People Actually Ask

Below are the questions we field most often at the office, answered properly rather than in a sentence. If you already know what you need, the service pages go into more detail, and the areas we serve lists every city. If yours is not here, call 918-622-7475 and ask. We would rather answer it before you book than have you find out afterwards.

FAQ

Cleaning Questions, Answered

How do I book a cleaning with DomesticAide?

Call the office on 918-622-7475 or send the quote form on this site. Tell us the size of the space, how often you would like us and anything that needs particular attention, and we will come back with a straightforward number and a date.

How much does house cleaning cost in Tulsa?

It depends on square footage, the number of bathrooms, how often we come, whether there are pets and the condition of the house when we start. We do not publish a price list because it would be wrong for most houses. A free quote takes one phone call and gives you a real number.

Do I need to provide cleaning supplies or equipment?

No. Our cleaners bring their own supplies and equipment. If you would prefer we use a specific product on a particular surface, leave it out and tell us, and we will use it.

Do I need to be home while you clean?

No, and most of our regular clients are not. We arrange access with you when you start, and we call the day before every visit with your arrival time so you always know when we will be there.

Will I get the same cleaners every time?

Yes. Recurring clients get the same crew each visit. That is how they learn your house, your priorities and the things you would rather they left alone. If your regular crew is unavailable, we tell you rather than sending people you have not met unannounced.

How often should I have my house cleaned?

Every two weeks suits most family homes and is what the majority of our clients choose. Weekly is better for full households, several pets or young children. Monthly works for smaller or tidier homes where the point is the deeper work rather than upkeep.

Do I need a deep clean first?

Almost always, and we will tell you when you call. A maintenance clean keeps a house at a standard; it is not built to catch up on two years of soap scum or dust on the door frames. The deep clean resets the house and the recurring visits then hold it there, which is why they cost less.

What is included in a standard clean?

Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas: surfaces wiped, appliance exteriors cleaned, sinks, toilets, tubs and showers scrubbed, mirrors and glass cleaned, dusting throughout, floors vacuumed and mopped, and trash emptied. The full itemised breakdown comes with your quote, because it depends on the property.

Do you do dishes or laundry?

No. Dishes and laundry are not part of a standard clean. We will change bed linens if you leave them out.

Can I add jobs like the oven or the refrigerator?

Yes. Oven interiors, refrigerator and freezer interiors, interior windows, walls and woodwork, upholstery vacuuming and several other jobs are available as a la carte add-ons, either on a scheduled visit or as a standalone booking.

Are your cleaners screened and insured?

Yes. Every DomesticAide cleaner is screened and trained before working in a home on their own, and the company is insured and bonded. Ask any company you are considering for proof of both.

What if something gets missed?

Call the office and tell us. We would far rather hear it than not, and we will put it right. A company that gets defensive about a missed baseboard is a company that will keep missing it.

Can I reschedule or skip a visit?

Yes. Call the office and we will move it. Our clients mention our flexibility on scheduling more than almost anything else, and it costs us nothing to be reasonable about a changed week.

Which areas do you serve?

Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Owasso and Coweta. If you are just outside those, call anyway; the boundary is about drive time rather than a line on a map.

Do you clean offices and businesses as well as homes?

Yes. We clean offices, clinics, salons, studios and other Tulsa businesses on a set schedule, including nights and early mornings so the work is finished before your team arrives.

Do you clean properties for sale or for a new tenant?

Yes. Listing-ready cleans, move-out and turnover cleans and post-construction cleanup are a regular part of our week, and we work to your closing or handover date.

What is Cleaning for a Reason?

It is a nonprofit that arranges free house cleanings for women undergoing cancer treatment. DomesticAide helped found it and runs the Tulsa chapter, and we have provided free cleanings through it since 2009.

What hours is the office open?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is closed Saturday and Sunday. Send the form outside those hours and we will follow up on the next working day.

How long will the cleaning take?

A recurring clean on an average Tulsa family home is usually a few hours with a crew. A first visit, which is normally a deep clean, takes considerably longer and often most of a day. We give you a realistic window when we quote rather than a number we then have to rush to hit.

How many cleaners will come to my house?

Usually two, sometimes more for a large property or a deep clean. Sending a crew rather than one person means the visit is finished in a single block rather than stretching across the day, and it is the same crew each time.

What should I do before the cleaners arrive?

Pick up rather than clean. Clothes, toys, papers and dishes all have to be moved before a surface can be touched, and time spent tidying is time not spent cleaning. If anything is delicate or you would rather we left it alone, leave a note on it or tell us when we arrive.

What about my pets?

Tell us about them when you book. Most dogs are fine with the crew. Some need shutting in a room or crating, and we would far rather know which yours is before someone opens a door. Cats generally sort themselves out.

Do you use eco-friendly products?

Our cleaners bring their own supplies and the live service uses eco-friendly products as standard. If anyone in the house has an allergy or a sensitivity, or you would rather we used a specific product on a particular surface, leave it out and tell us and we will use yours instead.

Why is my first clean more expensive than the ones after it?

Because the first visit is normally a deep clean, which resets the house rather than maintaining it. It covers baseboards, grout, blinds, light fixtures, appliance interiors and everything a maintenance visit does not reach. Once the house is at that standard the recurring visits hold it there and take less time, so they cost less.
