Forty years in one city means we know its houses. Tulsa is not one housing stock, it is several, and they need genuinely different work.

Midtown, Brookside and the Historic Neighborhoods

The bungalows and Tudors around Brookside, Maple Ridge and Swan Lake were mostly built between the 1920s and the 1940s, and they clean differently from anything newer. Original hardwood needs the right amount of moisture and no more. Hexagonal bathroom tile and its grout need hand work rather than a machine. Plaster walls mark more easily than drywall. Older windows have deep sills and tracks that hold a surprising amount of dust.

These houses also have radiators, built-ins, picture rails and transoms, which are exactly the surfaces a rushed crew skips. We do not.

South Tulsa and the Newer Builds

South of 61st, out along Sheridan, Memorial and Yale, the houses get newer and larger. More bathrooms, more square footage, higher ceilings and more glass. The work shifts from careful restoration-minded cleaning to volume: more surface area, more fixtures, and light fittings that need a ladder.

Open-plan kitchens in these homes also mean the kitchen is on display from the living area, so it carries more of the impression of whether the house is clean.

What a Tulsa House Deals With

Tulsa hands a house three particular problems. Spring pollen coats sills, glass and porches for weeks, and it gets inside every time a door opens. Red dirt from unpaved edges and construction sites tracks in on shoes and shows immediately on light floors. And Tulsa water is hard, which leaves a film on shower glass and chrome that a normal wipe does not remove.

That last one is the most common complaint we hear from people who cleaned themselves and could not work out why the shower never looked right. It needs the correct product and some time, not more scrubbing.
